     Hostnix has a triple homed datacenter (has three distinct physical connections to each of Sprint, UUnet, and Genuity), and has industrial grade uninterruptible power supplies backed by Diesel power plants, which can be used in the event of a prolonged power outage. A non-liquid fire suppression system is in place, and human personnel are on-site 24 hours per day monitoring network conditions.

     Hostnix uses genuine Cisco routers. We use the latest routers available to ensure our networks uptime and performance. Our network adaptors are supplied by Intel and various other top companies. These adaptors are what connect our servers to our Internet links. We only use the fastest and finest technology available right now.



     Our servers are at least Quad Pentium 4 Xeon processors with at least 4GB of RAM. Each server uses a name brand motherboard and name brand RAM. We use SCSI 15,000 RPM hard drives in a RAID array as a minimum requirement. The servers all run FreeBSD or RedHat Linux.



     This is the core software after the OS, which makes available a website on the Internet. We use Apache the most flexible http daemon for professional websites. Our Apache servers are equipped with mod_ssl and open_ssl as well as mod_perl and mod_php for those wishing to write dynamic website applications using Perl or PHP.
